University of North Dakota School Of Mines Pottery UND Football

Here is a great medallion or keepsake from the University of North Dakota School of Mines Pottery program in Grand Forks, ND.   Beautiful football player in different colors and shades.  I am no expert, but looking at it closely there appears to be different aqua blue: on the jersey and also the light-colored background.  The helmet and pants seem to be a lighter and darker brown color to bring out the ear flaps and layers of the helmet and also the curves of the pants.  The shoes could be a different color as they appear to have a reddish or orange hue to them.  You can see the shoe laces or holes and also the socks.  It's unbelieveable detail.  Unfortunately there is a chip out of the top, but I think the colors would make up for that over a one color piece.  If you look at the football player's face you can see the determination on his face and the strength of his upper body as he rushes down field.  On the back it simply states U.N.D.  Grand Forks, N.D.  Although not marked, this came with another which was most likely from 1938.  I would imagine this as being in the same time frame.
